Mal País / Santa Teresa

Mal País and Santa Teresa are two of Costa Rica’s fastest developing regions. Santa Teresa is best known for its surfing and Mal País has still remained a pretty tranquil town. Both Santa Teresa to the North and Mal País to the south offer long, white-sand beaches, great surfing and plenty of good food. Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, a thriving rainforest experience has stretches of dramatic coastlines. The international community here participates with local residents on beach clean-up projects, recycling efforts and environmental education.
