South Pacific
With more isolation than other regions in Costa Rica, the South Pacific is by far the most naturally diverse and secluded area in the country. It is known as Costa Rica’s “ultimate frontier” where tourists can explore the untouched rainforests or take in some culture in the rural towns.
Home to Corcovado National Park and Isla del Caño - great diving, hiking and backpacking - those looking for a more rustic outdoor experience will appreciate this area. Due to more isolation than other regions, getting around is a bit more difficult, but it still provides relaxing getaways in luxurious boutique lodges or backcountry experiences of staying in exotic tent camps. The South Pacific is truly the adventurer and nature lover’s heaven.
