Heredia

Located in the north western part of the country, Heredia borders Nicaragua and is the smallest province in Costa Rica. Despite its small size, the region has a wide range of climates and landscapes. The Barva Volcano has not been recently active but the rich fertile soil has made it a perfect place for coffee plantations. In this region you can hike Brava Volcano, raft down the Sarapiqui River’s Class II rapids, or hop on the Rainforest Aerial Tram to observe Braulio Carillo National Park’s natural habitat from above!
