Siquirres

Siquirres is a canton in the central region of the province of Limón. The name of the canton is derived from the Native Word meaning reddish colored. Its capital, Siquirres is the center of commerce and has most of the services for the area's locals.The climate is warm and wet and contributes to the fertility of it's soil. You can find banana and cacao plantation. The populations consists mainly of Jamaican descendants and immigrants from the Centaral Valley. Rivers have a great and strong flow in this region, like the Reventazón and Pacuare River.
